Daily Math - November 12, 2010

Please solve the following problem.

A man weighs 5/6 of his weight plus 30 pounds. What is his weight?

  1. You have to take 5/6 cross out the 5 to have 6. You take 6 times 30. That should equal 180 pounds/lbs. That is how I solved this problem.

  3. you take the 5 away from 5/6 and you multiply 6 times 30 and that should get 180 pounds.

  4. if you have 5/6 you would cross out the 5 . which would give you 6 and you would have 30 and 6 times 30 equals 180 so your answer is 30. 3o+30+30+30+30+30=180

  6. You get rid of the 5. So now you only have 6. Then you have to take 6x30=180. And 180 is your answer.
