Daily Math - September 22, 2010

Colin and his sister Cathy are cleaning their house on Saturday morning. Their house has nine rooms in it. They figure it takes one person about 8 minutes to clean one room. How long will it take them to clean the whole house if they work together the whole time? (Explain how you solved this problem along with your answer.)

    36 min. because it takes 8 min. for one person to clean one room so it would take 4 min. for 2 people. So then you take 4 times 9 and you get 36 min.

    it will only take them 36min if they work together because 4 min. a piece will be 36 min.

    36 minutes.
    4 minutes for a room together, two people working on the room. Times 9 rooms which equals 36 minutes.

    The answer is 36min. How I got that was if one person cleans a room it's 8min, but you split it in half because their is 2people. There is nine rooms in all. 9*4=36min.

    My answer is 36 minutes. If it takes 8 minutes for 1 person to clean 1 room, and so it would be 4 minutes if 2 people would clean. So you take 4x9=36 minutes.

    The answer is 36 minutes because it takes 8 minutes to clean one room, but with 2 of them it only takes 4 to each of the rooms. So 4x9=36 minutes.

    36 minutes, because there is nine(9) rooms and it takes about eight(8) minute to clean each room. I multiplied 9 times 8 and got 72. There is two people cleaning so I divided by two. 72 divided by 2 is 36.

    36 minutes because if it takes 8 minutes for 1 person then it will only take four minutes for them both to clean it so u can take 9 times 8 and get 72 then take 72 divided by 2 and get 36 minutes

    For one person it takes 72 minutes to clean nine rooms, and I got that by taking seven times nine and got 72.And I took 72 divided by two and got thirty-six.

    36 minutes because it takes 8 minutes ti clean each room i multiplied 9 times 8 and got 72 then divided it 2 cause 2 people cleaning 72/2= 36!
